Ok, that works if you are thinking of getting a cellphone vs. not getting a cellphone.
But when you are thinking of getting what type of cellphone, no, it doesn't count. Cause by deciding you are getting a cellphone but trying to decide which type, you already committed to buying the plan,what type of cellphone does not affect the cost of the plan, you are going to pay it regardless. So the cost of the plan really doesn't count for the cost of the cellphone when you are comparing cellphones together.

It's how they are able to lock people into contracts and get rid of crappy phones--make them believe that getting a POS andrrhoid for free is such a wonderful deal compared to paying $200 for an iPhone 4 (forget the fact that that they'll be stuck with a piece of junk for a long time, suffering with poor support and function, and stuck with something completely worthless at the end, all because advertisers dangle bright, shiny objects in front of their eyes and let them believe they're saving so much in the beginning).

I'd be highly skeptical if Apple will introduce LTE compatable chips even in 2012. Usually Apple takes it's time to implement technologies that all other phone makers in the market have implemented. They focus on ease of use and to the point where you don't even notice the technology (et. al. there latest iPad 2 commercial) They'll probably delay any LTE implementation until 2013.
That doesn't matter too much for me. All I want is mega awesome battery life. iPad 2 type battery life in my phone. I think that is there focus especially with the phone.

Both AAC (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Advanced_Audio_Coding#Licensing_and_patents) and MP3 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MP3#Licensing_and_patent_issues) have licensing fees. It's also a complete mess on the MP3 licensing side.

I'm not sure Apple would be able to add real value to a TV here.
They always seem to choose less than stellar hardware and then add great Software for the Value Add and high profit margins.
So I'm happy with my 2nd Gen Apple. TV as is.
A TV is big commitment. I don't want to be flipping that every year.

I leave the house to drive to work and I miss all the excitement! Grats to all those who are getting new MBPs today! *jealous* :D
Edit: I just got a chance to look at the upgrades and I'm very excited. For a similar spec in the 17", the C2D is $400 cheaper than its Yonah counterpart would have been. Makes me wish I didn't have to wait until the spring to buy!

100GB @ 7200
Yonah: $3099
C2D: $2699

Um.... I am pretty sure that Apple gets a higher subsidy from having an exclusive carrier agreement, lowering the cost to their customers, yet still keeping margins on the device high.

I think he means that the wireless card in the new MBP may be the same as in the new iMac, which is apparently 802.11n draft compliant
But if its not is there anyway you could upgrade to a 802.11n wireless card when it comes out in 2008? Like take it took an apple store and pay �100 or something..

They did it with Darren on Bewitched too.And that's what bugs me. That's the only time I can think of on TV where they actually pulled a switcheroo instead of having the character killed or sending him or her on a long trip to visit Aunt Edna in Schenectady.
