The fact that "there's only so much you can do with smart phone styling" does not give one company the inalienable right to copy another's patents, or blur the line between their product and the one which they're trying to copy.
The size of Apple's bank account has nothing to do with this. Disney has sued much smaller companies in the past, and won. Because the courts recognize the need to protect valuable intellectual property, even when sofa lawyers don't.

There is no incentive to go to a Zune. Same DRM, same features. THe people who hate the iPod and buy Creative aren't switching to Zune. They don't want to be locked into DRM. So unless microsoft really does something innovative it is just another player in a sea of non-iPods.
That's a good point. I think people are happy with what's available to them and I'm not so sure that an all-encompassing portable media device is ncessary. I've had 4g ipod for a couple of years now. Use it at the gym and when mowing the lawn. I don't think I'm the typical iPod user, but how much portable entertainment is too much? I always thought Walkmen and iPods were a little antisocial, people tend to shut themselves in. I think MS would be better off creating the next media paradigm.

Add a third option, 24" with a 16:10 ratio and a matte option. Easier on the eyes and more vertical space. The 27" was murder on my eyes and I had to sell mine.
I love my 27' so much!! I will buy another hopefully next week, even though I don't need it.

3. A scalper bought a huge portion of the tickets to resell. Apple does not let you transfer tickets. You must check-in at the registration desk with government issued ID (4th year attending).
To be fair, you can transfer WWDC tickets before they're activated. There are some on eBay right now. Otherwise, a company couldn't buy them for more than one employee.

You do know there are clear cases used to protect the phone from scratches, right? And rigid "bumper" style cases that still show off the front and back. Not every case covers up the entire phone.

What would be easy to accomplish would be making universal apps that combine the iPhone, iPad and Mac version in one app bundle. Say, download "OmniFocus Universal", which starts the Mac version on the Mac, the iPad version on iPad, the iPhone version on iPhone/iPod touch. Would only make sense when combining Mac App Store and iOS App Store someway while keeping the syncing of the iOS devices in iTunes.
Think one step further. Why break it up? One device that can work both in Mac (desktop) mode and in touch mode, with apps having UIs for both.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was a loss leader nor would I be surprised if different retailers had different costs associated with the products they sell. The local gas station, Wal-mart, and Costco typically don't pay the same price for the products they sell and I don't see why the online retail game would be any different.

Chevron being the most common receipt I saw. Also can tell you that at most the only difference between brands is additives added at the terminals were they fill up the full trucks. The gas could of originally been made by any refinery and put in the pipe line. They do not normally get out the same product they put into it and that is from my knowledge from the oil industry and family working in it.

People get beat up for no reason all the time. It doesn't have to do anything with bullying or the victim being a transgender. be satsisfied with what you have when you needed it... i got my 17" MBP only 3 weeks ago with no regrets and i love this thing, i don't need all that's there in the update, what i have now will suffice until the next time i need a new computer :D :D :D
I guess the point is that for some people this represents a considerable long term investment (like me) and they want to get the most modern hardware available if it will have to last years.
Worth noting that the projected clock speeds of Intels future laptop CPU's are not significantly faster, so there may yet be a "motorola effect"

I would have to say its because apple was in production fixing the Iphone 4 for 8 months just to get the white one in stores and i would have to say that put them behind on production of a new phone.
