I heard the iphone 5 is delayed because the HTC Sensation has sent Apple back to the drawing board.
I think HTC needs to find a drawing board and a good one cause all their recent phones have looked almost the same.

Just ordered mine, can't wait as my 2008 model is starting to struggle, especially with some of the photo editing software that plugs in to Photoshop, and Premiere Pro CS5 dies a death when trying to do anything remotely exciting!

There should be a setting something like:
- Never ask for password for purchases of $X and under.
- Always ask for password for purchases of $Y and over.
The first one would be nice so it I could set it to free and easily update my apps.
The second would help prevent cases like the OP.

Photoshop Elements 4.0 is a capable replacement for Photoshop CS2 for a lot of people, even professionals. It depends on what you're doing with it.
Your sort of re-iterrating what I was saying. iWork is to Office as Elements is to CS2. For some people it is good enough, it is the 70% functionality that most consumers use. But saying it is better, or that it replaces the pro app is just wrong.
Pages 2 is a useful release but it's not final. To discount it or iWork totally is not reasonable.

But Pages is not a professional replacement of Word and iWork is not a professional replacement of Office. 4. USE WITH VIRTUALIZATION TECHNOLOGIES. You may not use the software installed on the licensed device within a virtual (or otherwise emulated) hardware system.

Apple, we all know the mouse is dead... stop wasting time coding mac apps to look like iPad apps and coding mac os to operate like iOS, just do the obvious: ditch the mac platform all together! Make larger iOS devices that allow for the manipulation of iOS apps in windowed form and there you go, desktop operating environment with iOS.

Last quarter... people were buying iPhones at a rate of over 200,000 per day. It doesn't matter what they look like... or what time of year it is... Apple will sell iPhones.
Even if the iPhone 5 looks the same but has upgraded hardware inside when it comes out in September... someone will buy it just like someone bought the iPhone 4 from January to March.
Do you have to upgrade to a new model every year? No.
But somebody is always ready to buy a new phone.
BTW... the 3G and 3GS looked the same... and that did OK.
I personally believe these days that the look of the phone comes secondary to what is "under the hood".
Yes it helps if it's a good shape with a good screen but if Apple continue to release devices that a technically better the the rest then people will lap it up - the death grip didnt stop so many iPhone 4s being sold did it - people accepted it as the device packed a punch

I tried this on a new server at work a few weeks ago. Dual x5650 eons and 72gb RAM
While I realize that this is the wrong place for it, that iMac I just bought is awesome although I was returning it either way for a larger hard drive so the update is best now.
Direct from DVD, it took Handbrake about 20 minutes to convert a movie to iTunes format. So sweet. And that's the lowest end 21 incher.

Glad to see another PC Gamer + Mac User on the forums. One day my friend, we could perhaps game on our Macs...one day:( *soft weeping

Of course, that's not the majority of games. I plan to install Windows on the iMac I will purchase next week (or hopefully tomorow. ;)) for some gaming. I love GTA IV, for example.

Personally, I like the symbiosis of Windows software and OS-X. PowerPoint '11 beats Keynote and Word is just fine. Anyway. I will get my new iMac after I'm back from my Sweden trip next week. =)

Apple had a specific complaint about a specific device.
Wait what ? Apple's complaint had multiple utility patents, design patents, trademark infringement claims and trade dress claims. That's pretty broad, not specific.
It also levied these complaints at the many different phones in the Galaxy line-up. The media is only comparing 1 model, the Vibrant/i9000. There are many models included in the complaint, including the Captivate, the Nexus S and the Epic 4G. Yet as shown on this page, you'd be hard pressed to mistake them for a 3GS like the media claims.
Apple's complaint isn't specific and it isn't about a specific model at all. That is why you guys need to look beyond the simple pictures you've seen on Apple biased media. At this point, this could go either way, could get reduced, etc..
Also, the patents Samsung is suing over are quite important as they relate to reduced power usage during data transmission, something we all know Apple values profoundly in their designs. There's 10 patents in all. Like Apple, Samsung is defending their IP. Anyway, like stated many times, this lawsuit and now the counter-suit is just a negotiation tactic by both corporations. Don't worry too much about it and don't try to get into emotional arguments over it, in the end, it doesn't concern us the consumer.

Well, I just had to wipe my hands to type this after eating my nachos, so i wouldn't mind not touching it, so I could still be eating....that being said..this is too weird...A bar rumor. I was out last weekend and a friend told me about a friend of his with an Apple powerbook prototype that he is testing that uses exactly that. It's a three dementional, no touching, control. I guess it works with sensors behind the screen and in between the keys on the keyboard. You can write in the air, move items, etc. I wish I can say it was first hand that I saw this, so you have to take it as it is...only a rumor...BUT it does fit into this thread.

I'll say this one last time. Flash is not an app! It's a method of delivering content on a web site. You cannot make iOS "apps" to replace a web page dude. As long as there are Flash only web sites, there will be a demand for Flash plugins. This Skyfire app is proof of that. I won't bother arguing anymore about the other things as it's a complete waste of my time.
