Yes I have done all updating and everything necessary. I'm going to try some custom video card drivers later. I tried 2 separate TVs, and 2 HDMI wires, nothing.

Try resetting your PRAM. restart while holding CMD+Option+P+R.

From Terminal you can use the following to find references to where MySQL may be installed, then you can browser there and check the created/modified dates to see if they match with when you were installing.
sudo find / -name "mysql" -print
The command may take a few minutes to complete.

Hi, for anyone attempting to do this in the future, I thought I would share how to do it.....
first off, you need to declare a variable, in my case, lastClickedRow, and have 2 functions, in my case, storeLastRow and setRowAfterUpdate.

Hi everyone first post :)
here goes,
I had windows 7 installed on my macbook runing osx leopard
I used bootcamp to install it, last week I wanted to remove windows as I was not using it and it was eating up storage space
I opened bootcamp and removed windows successfully however it is defaulting to the windows and displaying a message "no bootable device -- insert boot disk and press any key"
i do not have a windows partition, to start up mac i need to hold alt on start up and select the mac partition.
any ideas? i done a search on the forum but did not see anything on this topic.

On my MBP, I have replaced my Toshiba 750GB HD, with an Intel 250GB SSD drive. Before that I had Parallels and Win 7 on my Toshiba and assigned about 140GB out of 750GB for Windows 7. Now I intend to use my Toshiba as an external HD with a Macally FireWire 800 Storage Enclosure.
My question: When I connect the external Toshiba to my MBP for the first time, will I be able to remove the 140GB partition with Disk Utility? Will Disk Utility recognize that partition that was used by Windows with Parallels? How do I get rid of that partition, so that I can use the whole space for backup?

Yeah I had a little look at that before I posted this. The updates listed there are yearly ones, I wondered if anyone knew the frequency of the smaller updates that don't get a big ol' press release.

A few weeks ago my wife was using her macbook when we discovered that she had been resting the screen over a small candle. Once the computer was taken out of the way of the candle we saw a small black mark on the screen but other than that no problems, however 2 days later following a small popping sound the screen went blank with only occasional flashes showing the computer was still functioning. I can see the screen using a flashlight and it can connect to an external monitor.
Following research I decided it was the inverter so I ordered one and took the comp apart to discover that this model doesn't have an inverter thus I am stuck.
Do I replace the screen or is there something else to check first?

Budget: Cheaper is better, but not an issue.
This isn't actually a budget, so your primary constraint has no parameter.
As was noted, raw footage is almost always transcoded to an edit-friendly format.

On the other hand, I am sure you'll be able to buy a thunderbolt card for your Mac Pro at some point. I am not ready to retire mine just yet. For one thing, a MBP is still limited to 8GB of memory. My MP has 14GB in it to support my use of VMWare.
Hopefully someone will come up with some sort of port replicator/dock for the MBP. Back when I used one as a desktop replacement, it was kind of a nuisance to unplug various drives, monitors and power adapters when it came time to hit the road. However, thunderbolt should definitely quiet the complaints of those who need an expresscard slot in their laptops ('cept they'll complain about having to buy a new machine now...).

I didn't really want to look through all of these downloads to see if what you want is here, but Apple has an older software downloads page here (http://support.apple.com/kb/TA48312?viewlocale=en_US). It may have some of what you want.

According to a new PDF file which can be found at mosr Motorolla's current powerpc architecture can eventually take them to 3ghz+ but their current roadmap only takes them to 1ghz with the7455 . So I live in PSN's very own nomansland - Europe. There are some games that I want but they're unavailable in this region. Sooo...
1) Can you gift PSN games cross-region as you can Steam or Wii games?
2) If I bought a US PSN card off *insert online shop here*, do I magically gain access to the region that card is for?
3) Can I play both my EU and "imported" PSN games off the same PSP?
If I can't get hold of R-Types there'll be heck to pay. mmHeck I tell ya.

The big problem (other than all the $$ this could have made him) is that he will likely find it very hard to ever get proper credit for the image in the eyes of the world, since the proverbial "horse has left the barn" syndrome, and since it has already been credited to other photographers and designers in other countries, who have sold it as if it were theirs. Chances are few photographers will ever experience one, or several of their images having this much commercial and mass appeal, and doubtful he will again, so not getting any recognition for his images must be a huge mixed blessing.
This video/film will certainly help, since that's how I learned of the story, but it will probably be very difficult for his name to ever be associated with the iconic images, except in fairly small, informed circles. Most famous pictures that are easily recognizable are generally associated with the photographer who made them -- in this case, that would take one hell of a major publicity campaign, since it's being treated like public domain work. At least this youtube video is a start...

I have a terrible feeling that something is really wrong with my MacBook Pro. It wouldn't turn on a few days ago. It would try to power up (I could hear the fans moving) but a few seconds later it would turn off (the led indicator on the front was still flashing so it wasn't completely off). At first I thought it had no battery (even though the indicator on the side said it was full) so I plugged it in. Nothing changed. Eventually, it turned on enough to bring up my login page except the screen was kind of greyed out and it had a loading/resume bar (the same thing that normally happens when the battery goes and it resumes where you previously left off).
Every time I tried to type in my password, it would literally take about 30 seconds to register my key strokes (there was a constant spinning beach ball). After that, it turned off again. Eventually I left it alone and when I came back to it that evening, it was working perfectly.
Is my battery screwed? Could it be my ram due to the constant spinning beach ball? I've noticed a huge performance slow down in the last few weeks.
